SOCIAL ISOLATION

A bed made for one.
Twisted sheets under thighs.
Lost in a trance of a distant voice,
speaking softly
at first,
until the rough pleasure
creeps into your mind.
No hands smudging your lipstick,
but your own.
Moments couldn’t be more intense,
even if you allowed a chance
for another someone
to touch you.

Refused invitations.
Deleted messages.
Dates,
cancelled –

all, so you could get lost in the reality
you made for yourself.
Social isolation,
in order to fulfil needs of your body,
connecting across oceans
with another.
You.

– Chatty Owl –

I must be pretty far gone – I see the sensuality in this piece, but I feel it to be the sleepless nights due to nightmares and memories. staying home, going nowhere except to work and taking my kids places….

    intense.
I like this very much. Continuously being blown away by how many talented people there are and that I found yet another one in you. Look forward to following πŸ™‚

This, for me, is a sequence of beautiful, suggestive paintings each with its own emotion. And as I enter each room to look at the painting, I feel the emotion of that particular scene in a way that no painting could ever convey. This is deeply moving and erotically charged,

    “connecting across oceans
    with another.
    You.”

With your words, Ms. Owl, it is a connection not easily broken. Such a lovely piece of prose, sprinkled with a bit of melancholy (such is my perception). As usual, I read this with a smile πŸ™‚

Humans were not meant for social isolation, which is why, I suspect, even though you have your reasons, this piece is filled with tortured symbolism.
